5. Open HID Lock

Oh, this might be a good time to mention another lock in the castle.

Santa asked me to ask you to evaluate the security of our new HID lock.

If ever you find yourself in posession of a Proxmark3, click it in your badge to interact with it.

It's a slick device that can read others' badges!

Solution

The first step in this challenge is to configure/hack the Santavator to get to Floor 1.5 where the Workshop and Wrapping Room are. The door with the HID lock is on the left in the Workshop. The Proxmark3 is on the floor in the Wrapping Room.

Based on the comment from Fitsy Shortstack, the next thing to do is visit Shinny Upatree in front of the castle. If Santa trusts him perhaps he has a badge that can access all areas.

Standing near Shinny Upatree, with the Proxmark CLI activated, let's see if there is badge to be scanned.

Answer

Scan Shinny Upatree's badge with the Proxmark and use the Proxmark to open the door to the "???" area.

Remarks

This is where things getting interesting. Stepping into the pitch black room there appears to be nothing there, but zoom out and you see 2 lights.

The lights

Drawn to the lights, you end up leaving the room and materialising as Santa in the Entrance Hall. You have managed to pass through the painting that is hanging in the Entrance Hall.

You can now access Santa's Black badge and you have the ability to teleport. This opens so much more access including the remainder of the Objectives.
